Some people think that all young people should be required to have full-time education until they are at least 18 years old. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
291words
Nowadays, there is some debate as to whether young people should be required to attend school full-time until they are at least 18 years old. Personally, I think it is crucial for all young people to go through this kind of educational system.
First of all, a full-time education gives young people enough time and opportunity to cultivate their academic knowledge. It allows students to learn about wide variety of subjects over a course of many years, which enables them to master indispensable academic subjects such as math, science, literature and history. This not only provides students with a well-rounded education, but also boosts their odds of getting accepted into university. For instance, in my country you must have a high school diploma in order to be accepted into a reputable university. In turn, a college degree is necessary for people to land a stable and lucrative job. Therefore, a full-time education is essential to having a successful career.
In addition, compulsory full-time education gives young people the opportunity to develop their social skills. Young people are surrounded by other students in school and often have to work on group projects, participate in group discussions and attend extracurricular activities. As a result, students have no choice but to socialize with other students and establish meaningful friendships throughout their educational career. Moreover, students must also learn to communicate effectively with their teachers and learn from their guidance. By receiving a full-time education, young people can significantly improve their interpersonal skills, which prepares them for their professional careers.
In conclusion, I believe that young people should certainly be required to receive a full-time education until they are 18 because it gives them the opportunity to expand their knowledge and develop useful communication skills.
