2）used to say that something wasn't that great, or was strange,but people don't want to say it directly. 表示某事并不怎么好，甚至有点奇怪，但人们并不想直接这样表示出来，于是他们说：that's interesting. (有点接近于当下流行语：呵呵）

Example: You attended a friend's drama performance and another friend asks you how it was. You thought it was weird but instead you say “It was interesting.”
